You can register at the polls on election day with proof of residence for an election day registration.

Absentee ballots are available starting September 23 
You can vote early with an absentee ballot starting 46 days before Election Day. 
  • If you are a resident of St. Louis County and want to vote by absentee ballot, you must complete and submit an absentee ballot application.

These referendum questions will be on the November 8, 2022 ballot. The State of Minnesota requires the following language be used for the ballot questions:
SCHOOL DISTRICT BALLOT QUESTION 1
RENEWAL OF EXPIRING REFERENDUM REVENUE AUTHORIZATION
The School Board of Independent School District No. 695 (Chisholm Public School District), Minnesota, has proposed to renew the school district’s existing property tax referendum authorization of $251.38 per pupil which is scheduled to expire after taxes payable in 2023. The proposed referendum revenue authorization would be first levied in 2023 for taxes payable in 2024 and would be applicable for ten (10) years unless otherwise revoked or reduced as provided by law.

Shall the renewal of the expiring property tax referendum proposed by the Board of Independent School District No. 695 (Chisholm Public School District) be approved? ​
BY VOTING “YES” ON THIS BALLOT QUESTION, YOU ARE VOTING TO EXTEND AN EXISTING PROPERTY TAX REFERENDUM THAT IS SCHEDULED TO EXPIRE.

PASSAGE OF THIS REFERENDUM EXTENDS AN EXISTING OPERATING REFERENDUM AT THE SAME AMOUNT PER PUPIL AS IN THE PREVIOUS YEAR

SCHOOL DISTRICT BALLOT QUESTION 2
APPROVAL OF GENERAL OBLIGATION SCHOOL BUILDING BONDS
Shall the School Board of Independent School District No. 695 (Chisholm Public School District), Minnesota, be authorized to issue general obligation school building bonds in an amount not to exceed $32,000,000, for the purpose of providing funds for the acquisition and betterment of school sites and facilities?
BY VOTING “YES” ON THIS BALLOT QUESTION, YOU ARE VOTING FOR A PROPERTY TAX INCREASE.
