Enrollment is steady

We Have a Plan to Address Desperate Needs

Our Current Operating Levy expires next year.
  • Levy provides funding for learning - teachers, curriculum, technology
  • Without the renewal, the District will lose $200,000 per year in funding.
  • Loss of levy dollars will result in reduced programs and services for students.
  • COVID Relief/ESSER Funding focused on student support, mental health, curriculum coordinators, IT support
Operating levy will continue this important work.

Our facilities are in desperate need of repair.
  • Repairs exceed annual and long-term facilities maintenance funding.
  • Available space is inefficient and some is unusable due to code violations.
  • Facility issues are taking dollars away from teaching and learning for all students.
  • New facilities are a long-term investment in Chisholm.

District is seeking additional funding
District is in discussion with IRRRB and pursuing assistance from the state through legislation, and also seeking COVID Relief Funds from the county, as well as early childhood support from the Minnesota Head Start Association.
District is achieving its strategic goals
  • Planning process started two years ago with academic and financial strategic planning.
  • Outlined several goals to achieve over a 3-5 year period. We have accomplished more than 50% of our academic goals to date.
  • In collaboration with neighboring districts on several services and programs to provide additional opportunities to students.
★ New E-6 Building will increase operational efficiency and safety
★ Chisholm Elementary is operating significantly under capacity at 44%
★ A new E-6 building would save about $310,000 annually in operations costs
Survey Says:
  • 83% of residents favor a proposal to increase the school district’s existing referendum funding.
  • 62% of residents with an opinion gave the school district an A or B rating compared to 44% nationwide.
  • 78% say updated educational spaces are critical to preparing students for the future.
  • 67% would vote yes to new classroom spaces.
